Job search and waiting…

Dave is currently working at Lowe’s in Goshen (northern IN). Early last week he had an interview at  Lowe’s in Springfield, TN, which is approximately 45-50 minutes from where his parents live. They said they would get back with him by Thursday or Friday of last week, but we didn’t hear from them. Dave called them this morning and they told him that the HR lady had been out for 3 days, so they would check into it. Lowe’s is not where he wants to work long term, but at this point it would be a start for us to be able to move to KY. So, basically, I’m posting to ask for prayers that we would be patient and wait for the Lord’s direction in all of this.

I realize that no one likes to wait, but I feel like we’ve been waiting for over a year. God’s plan is perfect and I know there is a reason for all that happens. It helps me so much to know that I will look back and see why things happened the way they did, but waiting is still difficult. OK, I think that is enough whining from me.

I’m hoping to be able to post tomorrow…or maybe even later today with some good news.

What day is it??

LOL! I started work on Friday, which made it feel like Monday and now I can’t remember what day it is…hehe!

Work went well (all day Friday and Saturday morning). Things are coming back pretty quickly, whew! Think I need a little time to sit down and mess with the computer since we did everything on paper when I last worked there.

Friday night we had Cook’s Pizza for supper. For those of you who don’t know…it’s a little place owned by 2 brothers here in Wakarusa. I have missed their pizza. We picked that up and then went up to my brother’s house to eat it. He is working on digging out his underground pool. So there is a nice hole in his back yard and they are digging another hole behind his neighbor’s house to bury the concrete from the pool and an old foundation of the neighbor’s. Daniel and Isaiah got to help Aden drive the bachoe. They thought that was pretty cool! And of course I didn’t have my camera, so no pics of that.

Saturday morning. I got up and went to work.  After work, mom and I hit the grocery store. Dave headed back to Indy to pick up the rest of our stuff. He had to borrow my brother’s truck since ours is still not working (bought a new fuel pump, but haven’t had time to put it in). He got back here a little after 5. My aunt and uncle came out and we had a HUGE bonfire. Cooked hot dogs on the fire…mmmm. Boys had fun catching lightening bugs and smashing them on the front of the play car for headlights.

We are all doing well. Rather tired and still lots of unpacking to do. I’m hoping to get some of that done today. The clutter is starting to get to me. The boys are getting “country-fied” lol! It’s nice for them to have lots of space to run around and play outside.

I can’t remember if I posted this already, but they even took their “baths” outside the other night. They were playing in the sprinkler, so we just gave them some soap and they got washed up that way. We were CRACKING up…two little naked boys running around in the yard. They are hoping to get to swim in the new pool grandpa bought. He found a 10′x30″ pool at Menard’s and got that set up yesterday, but of course it was COOOOOOLD! Daniel did play around in it while it was filling. It was only up to his knees or so. He finally convinced himself to go under water, but it sure took his breath away…lol! Needless to say, he only did that once.

I’m sure you would all like to see some pictures, but we just haven’t had much time to mess with getting them on here right now. I’ll try to do it sometime soon.

Bunks and more

Made some good progress on the boys’ room today (all 3 are in one room). We took down the full size bed and toddler bed that were in the room and put up the bunk beds. This is the first time they have really slept in them while they were bunked. Of course, Daniel is on top. Grandma had a safety rail in the camper so we put that up just in case.  We are planning to take down the crib and put ours up.

This morning I pulled all the furniture in the living room away from the walls and vacuumed under (and around) everything. And I wonder why, at 8 pm, I am sitting here trying to focus enough to even write this post…lol! I think my eyes are half closed already.

The boys went up to bed a little after 7, since they never took naps this afternoon. We were working in their room so it was 2:30 or so when I tried to get them to lay down, then they wouldn’t quit talking. Joshua is also still getting used to having someone in his room. He has had a room to himself up to this point.

Dave took my aunt and uncle to Chicago to the airport this morning. After dropping them off he met up with his brother and they went to see Transformers and then I’m assuming dinner and hangout time. I’m glad he was able to go and relax a bit.

One more day til I start working. I work Friday all day and Sat til about noon. Dave also works on Friday. Pray for all of us as we adjust to me working.

Moving in

We were up until about midnight Sunday night getting more things packed. After packing up the van and sending mom and the boys on their way, I laid down for a nap. I figured I would do better if I took a nap and then worked late. However, when I woke up I had a nice migraine…so it too about another 2 hours until the meds kicked in and I could really get to work.

So Monday morning…we were supposed to pick up the moving truck at 9:00. Well, someone called to tell us that only 2 trucks showed up over the weekend instead of 3…so there wasn’t one for us…ARGH!!! They did some calling around and found one downtown…so off went Dave and Mike to pick that one up. When they arrived the guy there told them they had sent the truck to Post Rd (where we were supposed to pick up originally), but luckily they had another one there. So FINALLY the truck arrived about 11. We had quite a few teens show up to help at 9:30…so they carried all furniture to the main level and then sat around telling jokes until the truck arrived. Then we all got to work. It was HOOOOOTTT!!! Heidi and Deanna Wrigley made lunch for all of us…THANK YOU SO MUCH…so we quickly ate and got back to work.

The truck was loaded and we pulled out of 9045 E. 21st St for the last time at 4:15. We arrived at mom and dad’s at 7:20 or so…which means we made good time, considering the rental truck doesn’t move all that fast and we drove through some rush hour traffic. My aunt, uncle and cousin were here to help, as well as, another uncle…THANK YOU!!!

In the meantime we wanted to move our pickup around closer to the house to unload, but it wouldn’t start, so it is sitting there not running. Dave tried to replace a part, but that didn’t do the trick. He thinks it is either the fuel pump or the “brain” that is the problem. The frustrating part is that we will probably have to call a tow truck as well, because we can’t start it to take it anywhere.

Then, to add to the frustration today, we took the truck back and stopped to fill up with gas. Basically, the pump was a bit messed up, so that took forever (this after waiting at least 10 min. for a train).  Add to this multiple times bumping our heads on the dormers in the room where we are staying. OUCH!

I cleaned the laundry room and entry way today. And we got our mattress, shelves, and recliner carried upstairs. Cleaned the bathroom sink, and got a few things situated in my dresser. I was hoping to get more done today, but I guess we did make good progress.

Dave is taking my aunt and others to Chicago to the airport tomorrow and then he will meet up with his brother and spend the night there. It will be good for him to relax a bit. We have a lot to do here, but he has worked soooooooooo hard the last 2 days, well really, the last several months, but especially the last 2 days. He needs a break!

I’m hoping to tackle the boys’ room a bit tomorrow, we will see how far I get.

Well, what a long post, and I’m about to fall asleep. So I’m off to bed and hope that everyone sleeps in tomorrow…won’t hold my breath, but I can hope!

Oh…I know I’ve said some thanks, but we really appreciate all the help we have received from our friends and family. Overall, things went very smoothly and that is due to all the help we have received. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Our last night

Tonight is our last night…how sad. Our last Sunday at church. It was pretty teary and Daniel was crying pretty hard for a little bit.

Yes, I should be packing, but we just finished a late dinner and letting that settle a bit and then back to packing. We are almost done, just the last minute things to do and I’m sure there will be a bit to do in the morning. I have to say that I am quite proud of myself for getting so much done ahead of time. I’m sure I’ve already mentioned that I am normally quite the procrastinater, but did much better this time. Although, I feel like I’ve been packing for MONTHS…guess we kinda have been.

The boys and my mom headed up to Waky (Wakarusa), this afternoon. So we are able to pack and finish up without too much interruption. Pam and Courtney came this evening and helped me out…THANK YOU!!!  Had a lovely migraine this afternoon so didn’t get as much done earlier as I had hoped…grrr! But that is feeling better now, thanks to the meds. That just leaves me feeling sleepy, but I can deal with that.

Poor Dave, not a very fun way to celebrate Fathers’ Day. He’s getting tired of momentous events happening on Father’s Day (moving, and twice I’ve told him I’m pregnant on Father’s Day NOT this year!!!!!) What a great dad though! I am so proud of him and all he has done for our family!!! These boys LOOOOOVE their daddy. It’s been a blessing for him to be able to be home more lately and get to have more quality time with them. WE LOVE YOU, DAVE (DADDY)!!!!

Well, I’m off to do some more packing!

Wedding

First…Daniel did AWESOME!!! I wanted to post some pictures, but I left my camera in Daniel and Isaiah’s room. I was taking pictures of them sleeping in their room for the last time :( . Anyway, pictures will come eventually.

The wedding and reception were GREAT!! Very beautiful!!! The boys had a fun time dancing. Wish I would have had the video camera, but I did get quite a few pictures.

We got more boxes packed up, more cleaning done, etc. Once the boys leave with mom tomorrow afternoon we’re gonna have to kick it into high gear and get the rest of this done.

Chuck E. Cheese (and more)

Today was the day for Chuck E. Cheese. Daniel and Isaiah had a great time!!! They both took good naps too…hehe! And I was quite the proud mommy too…Miss Patty told me that she would take them anywhere, they were so good! Ah…music to my ears! They make me proud!!!! Mommy, grandma and Joshua enjoyed a nice lunch at Chili’s, I dropped mom at the mall for a massage, picked up the boys and then picked her up and headed home.

Got home, put the boys in bed for naps, officially changed our address :( and then headed off to run some errands. We hit Target for a gift card, the bank, PO and Meijer. Returned home, changed some laundry, got burgers out to thaw and went to work. (I know, I’m getting a little detailed, but this is more for me than for you. Kinda felt unproductive, but now, not so much). ALL plates and silverware are packed up. But then I realized that the only sharp knife I left out is my big santuko.

Oh…before leaving this morning, I orange oiled (is that a word?) all the kitchen cabinets and mom wiped down the outside of the fridge, stove and dishwasher. She also tackled the main bathroom, except for the shower (too hard on her shoulders). Dave cleaned out the shed, did some more in the garage and spot cleaned the carpets.

Ok, so I guess it was pretty productive after all. Maybe I should have posted this sooner to make me feel a little better.

I was thinking tonight that Monday still seems a long way off. I am ready to be done with this portion of the packing. Just want to get it ALL packed and moving to the next place, but we still have quite a few days to go. Now, I’m not in a hurry to leave, but I’m just not used to being done with things this far in advance. I guess I shouldn’t say done, but so close to done. I know that we will have to do some quick, last minute packing on Sun night/Mon., but still it’s THURSDAY and I’m ready for that.

Whew…that was a lot of rambling. Trying to make sense of the thoughts that are rattling around in this tired brain. Daniel took some pics today, but I’m too tired to mess with them tonight. I’m sorry, hopefully tomorrow.

Time to clean

Not only do we need to pack, but also clean. So…we got some of each done today. Most of the “basement” level (we live in a split level for those who don’t know) is done. We finished packing up the big room down there and then got some cleaning done.  Washed windows (THANKS mom!), vacuumed, cleaned up some cobwebs, dusted, etc. Mom also cleaned the guest bathroom.

I feel like we are doing well with what we’ve gotten done…ask me Sunday night or Monday and I may not say the same. But for now, it seems to be going well. We have most of the “big” stuff done, and are kind of at a standstill because we need a lot of what is still out.

Job update: I’ve already mentioned that I will be working for Dr. Clark and that my first day is next Friday (26th). Mom was talking to my aunt this weekend who has a photography studio and she needs someone to watch her shop while she goes to Spain for about 2 weeks and she wondered if Dave would be interested in doing that. YEP! LOL! That just leaves mom with the boys while he does that…plus she also watches my nieces who are 2 and 8. OY! But, my brother has a couple weeks off work at that time as well, so she won’t have the girls as much as usual and won’t have to get up at 4am like usual either! Whew! Now, who can tell me that God doesn’t provide what we need??? It may not be OUR plans, but He provides for sure!!!

Tomorrow Daniel and Isaiah are going to Chuck E. Cheese with a lady from church and her daughter. That will be nice for them to get out and have some fun. They did get to ride in a movie cart at Meijer today with Grandma…lol! They like to ride in them, but rarely get to, she said they were so quiet that she almost forgot they were there.

Well, all are in bed….kids anyway. I’m considering cleaning the kitchen cabinets, but not sure I’m up for that right now or not. However, I would get to cross something else off my list…gotta love doing that!!!

Driving, packing, shopping

Yep…shopping! Gotta do SOMETHING fun every now and then…lol!

We left Waky a little before 11, got back to Indy about 2. Everyone laid down for naps. We’ve all had a loooooong weekend. Mom and the boys were up late and awake early all weekend and then busy, busy while at their house. After naps, mom and I went to Kohl’s and Goodwill. I found a couple pairs of pants and a shirt for working. Then back here to do a bit more packing.

Once again, it is 11 and I need to get myself to bed. It’s gonna be a busy week, with lots to get done, so if I dont post muchk, that’s why. However, I like to unwind on the puter for a bit usually, so as long as my brain is functioning…a little…I will try to at least post a little bit.

Our boys

What’s happening…

Where are we? What are we doing? Keep checking back for updates. I can't promise they will happen as frequently as I would like, but I'll try.
